I attended two 10-day residential programmes that combined horse riding, outdoor learning and responsibility.
The experience
I completed two 10-day residential programmes at Japalouppe Equestrian Centre near Pune in 2021, covering riding lessons and sessions on horse breeds, grooming and behaviour, along with survival and nature-based learning.
Progression
On the second visit, I completed Level II and developed horse-riding and horse-management skills including grooming, stable management and horse tack.
Personal takeaway
The experience helped me understand that riding is not only about control or achievement. It is also about trust, patience and taking responsibility for another living being.
